And we’re back on the blog after a wild and wonderful weekend of opening days, epic competitions, moments of worship, and a whole ton of fun! Saturday morning was mostly quiet at Chosatonga as the majority of our campers were out on the trail for their cabin overnights, but Kahdalea was full of electric energy with Capture the Flag and our Junior Session opening day! We’re working hard to provide regular updates on our blog, but forgive us is sometimes the demands of camp life (and the fun of engaging with our campers) draws us away at times. We’re ready to share all unfolding in our corner of these wonderful mountains!

On Saturday afternoons, we enjoy a fun and wholesome meeting between our brother / sister programs with our coed day celebrations. This weekend, back by popular demand was our Color War Coed. Red and Blue, pitted against each other in epic conflict, battled to take this year’s trophy of the color wars until the mantle is challenged again next summer. Every camper is assigned a color when they come to camp, and these battles go far beyond the Saturday coed arena. The entire week leading up to the contest is full of striving for points that will contribute to each team’s overall score on Saturday afternoon. I’ll let the pictures below share the sentiment of our happy campers!

In addition to a color war, our Junior Counselors enjoyed a really special treat. Our JC Night out is typically a highlight for our JCs, who get swept off their feet into a surprise evening out on the town. They enjoyed ice cream, swing dancing, and an extended opportunity to fellowship with friends over the mountain. Our JCs are amazing!!! Here are some smiling faces on their adventures off campus.

With such a sunny weekend behind us, now we have so much to look forward to as trips launch in this new week. To say we are enjoying this session is certainly an understatement; you can feel the joy in the air. Thank you for your prayers and support. We continue to work hard to give these campers the most amazing experience possible!
