Our summer is off to an amazing start! After two wonderful and intense weeks of staff training, we are ready to welcome your campers to the BEST SUMMER EVER!
This morning is already a cherished memory: the joy, the music, the smiles, the laughter, the reunions, the icebreakers, and watching the realization of just how special this place is settling in on the faces of our new campers. It’s a gift to be here!
As I write, our various tribes at Kahdalea are rotating through games with Natalie (our program director), swim checks, and introductions to rock climbing and mountain biking. These rotations are a wonderful hit! I am still sweating from being chased by campers from our youngest tribe in a massive round of freeze tag coordinated by Natalie 🙂
Tonight, Kahdalea will carry this momentum into the sacred environment of our first campfire. Our campers will hear poetry and music endemic to our valley, and songs and hymns that make the heart sing too! All is well at camp – I can already sense a palpable peace in the friendships blossoming in our tribes and age groups. What an incredible opening day!
