THE Insider’s Packing List

Here it is folks! Coming to camp for the first time can be overwhelming. Having someone who has been going to camp for a long time tell you all of the things to pack that you wouldn’t think to pack is HUGE, and I’m going to tell you everything you need to know. Below is a list of all of things you wish you knew to pack before you got to camp. This list includes some additional fun options that aren’t required for camp but will set you up for success!

Choctaw’s (ages 8-10) and Shawnee’s (11-13)

  • Personal sheets and warm blanket for twin bed
  • A stuffed animal
  • Drawing materials
  • A red shirt and a blue shirt for camp wide games
  • Fan (preferably battery operated)
  • Pre-written home address
  • Pre-written address’s of friends and family
  • Stationary
  • Journal
  • Coloring materials
  • Deck of cards
  • Books
  • Pictures to hang
  • Something to hang pictures with
  • Extra batteries

Seminole’s (14-15) and Junior Counselor’s (16-18)

  • Personal sheets and warm blanket for twin bed
  • Fan (preferably battery operated)
  • Cards and games
  • Stationary
  • Pre-written address’s of friends and family
  • Fun little things to decorate your space
  • Pictures to hang
  • Something to hang pictures with
  • Books
  • A red shirt and a blue shirt for camp wide games
  • Makeup and hair tools for fun occasions if desired 
  • A camp appropriate nice outfit
  • Extra batteries

For JC’s only:

  • A tightly concealed box for the JC exclusive hang space
  • Appropriate CD’s for kitchen shift (we have a CD player)
  • Clothes you don’t care about getting greasy or dirty when in the kitchen
  • Hats for kitchen
  • JC’s are allowed access to the coffee station!
    • Tea, honey, hot chocolate, creamer packets

COSTUMES for all ages:

Fun clothes to pack (optional NOT required)

  • Literally anything funky
  • Clothes that could be torn or formed into a costume
  • Christmas clothes
  • Fun sunglasses
  • Any wigs
  • Fun hats
  • Anything western
    • Overalls are always great
  • Patriotic attire
  • Face paint
  • Mardi Gras gear
  • Bandanas
  • Scrub shirt
  • Any (appropriate/no gore or scary) old halloween costumes? Bring them! 

****always pack clothes that you don’t care about if they get ruined or dirty or ripped 🙂
